Little Walter's autographs - authentic and fake
A couple of the authentic autographs (on the right below) were reproduced in
the book, but in the course of researching the book we collected several others that weren't used in the book. I've seen a number of "autographed" Little Walter publicity photos for sale,
and none of them looked like any of the verified examples of his signature I've collected.
You be the judge.
I'll add more as I find them.
Disclaimer: I'm not an autograph collector or handwriting expert, so I can't
testify in your civil suit against the person who sold you a fake Little Walter
autograph!
Here's another one from a recent eBay auction of a publicity photo. Compare
it to the authentic signatures on the right above, and I think even a non-expert
would have to come to the conclusion that this is a fake. Although it does look like the same secretary who signed the one second from the top on the left, with the "Little" on top of the "Walter", may have signed this one too.
